Introduction

Oromia Tourism Commission believes that tourism is not only promoted through the usual way but also using prominent individuals who can play significant role in representing their culture, history and above all their identity. Hence, the commission would like to nominate these individuals as tourism ambassadors based on their reputations. Tourism Ambassadors play a crucial role in promoting and increasing tourism for a company on a global scale. As representatives of a tourism company, ambassadors are tasked with building and maintaining relationships with potential clients, travel agencies, and key stakeholders in various countries. By establishing these connections, ambassadors can help to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation.

Furthermore, ambassadors serve as valuable assets in promoting the unique offerings and attractions of their county to diverse international markets. With their cultural knowledge and language skills, ambassadors can effectively communicate the organizations brand message and highlight the best of what it has to offer. By leveraging their connections and influence, ambassadors can help to drive interest and awareness of their country, region, ultimately leading to a boost in tourism.

Objective

1. Increase brand visibility and recognition globally by having a well-networked figure as an advocate for Oromia’s tourism.
2. Attract new audience by leveraging the ambassador’s influence and reach to promote to promote Oromia’s tourism potential.
3. Create/strengthen partnerships and collaborations with individuals and other

 

 Oromia Tourism Commission Global Ambassador Criteria:

1. Passion for Oromia: The applicant must have a deep love and enthusiasm for promoting Oromia’s culture, tourism, and heritage.
2. Diaspora Status: The applicant must be an Ethiopian diaspora living abroad, with strong ties to the Oromia region.
3. Cultural Knowledge: The applicant should have a good understanding of Oromia’s history, traditions, natural attractions, and culture.
4. Social Media Presence: The applicant must have an active social media presence and the ability to promote tourism initiatives online.
5. Language Skills: Fluency in Afaan Oromo and English (or the local language where they reside) is required.
6. Communication Skills: The applicant should possess excellent communication skills to engage with diverse audiences.
7. Networking Ability: The applicant must be able to establish and maintain relationships with diaspora communities and tourism stakeholders.
8. Commitment to Promote Oromia: The ambassador should be committed to volunteering time and effort to represent Oromia Tourism Commission at international events and platforms.
9. Positive Public Image: The applicant should have a positive public image, promoting values that align with the mission of Oromia Tourism Commission.

• Application Submission: Interested individuals must submit an application with a brief statement on why they want to become an ambassador, along with a CV highlighting relevant experience.

These criteria ensures that the volunteer ambassadors are passionate, knowledgeable, and capable of promoting Oromia effectively.
